**Until we re-open, please see our list of recommended
low-cost clinics, emergency vet facilities, and local vet offices to find a veterinary facility that can provide the services your cats and dogs need.
We haven't given up! We're working hard to
find a new location for our Spay Our Strays Clinics so that we can re-open and get back to providing crucial veterinary services for the cats and dogs in our community. However, we are having a difficult time finding a space that is affordable, allows animals, and is large enough to accommodate the clinics.
If you can put us in touch with anyone who might have a space available for our clinics that meets
our location needs, please contact CSTAR Animal Care at (856) 537-8729.
We can't re-open without your help. Together, we can work through the challenges of finding a new location, skyrocketing costs, new expenses for the new location, and replacing vaccinations, medications, and supplies that expired while we were closed.
Please
make a donation to CSTAR today, and if you know of anyone with a
suitable space to rent or who might be interested in investing in a property, please give us a call at (856) 537-8729.
For more updates, keep an eye on our home page, our
CSTAR Facebook page, and our
SOS Clinic Facebook page.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic all SOS mega and mini clinics have been suspended since March of 2020. Future appointments are not being scheduled at this time, since we do not yet have an estimated date for when clinics will resume. Once we have any more news, it will be posted here on our website.
We are truly sorry for any difficulties that this may cause. We are just as disappointed and frustrated as you are. None of us could have predicted that we would have to be closed for so long, and we are all very anxious to get back to helping the animals and caregivers in our community that need us so much.
Some good news! People For Animals, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Millville, NJ and All Pets, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Mount Laurel, NJ are now scheduling spay/neuter appointments. There may be a little bit of a wait until their next available appointment dates, but they do have appointments available. You can reach People For Animals at (856) 243-5211, and more information can be found on the
People For Animals website. All Pets is scheduling appointments via email, and more information can be found on their
facebook page. This information is current as of 5/21/20. Please contact PFA and All Pets directly to confirm appointments are still available and to schedule.
And remember, if you are trapping a cat that needs to be fixed, please DO NOT TRAP any stray or feral cats until you have SCHEDULED AND CONFIRMED your appointment with PFA or All Pets. You don't want to have a cat in a trap and nowhere to take the cat to be fixed if there aren't any appointments available for a while.
Please do NOT call the appointment line or email us with appointment scheduling questions as our volunteers will be focusing their time on their families and staying safe.
The appointment line's voicemail messages will NOT be monitored until we begin holding clinics again, so we will NOT be able to return your calls. Email will only be monitored on a very limited basis, and responses may take an extended period of time.
Once we are able to resume appointment scheduling and holding clinics again, we will make an announcement on our website. So as things improve, please check this posting for status updates.
Make sure to hit refresh in your browser to ensure that you are seeing the most up-to-date post.
Please DO NOT TRAP any stray or feral cats unless you have VERY RECENTLY CONFIRMED your appointment with whatever clinic you originally scheduled with. Most of the clinics and veterinary offices in our area have suspended spay/neuter appointments at this time, and you don't want to have a cat in a trap and nowhere to take the cat to be fixed.
If you have a cat or dog that needs medical attention, please contact your regular vet or an emergency veterinary hospital. The names and numbers of some local veterinary facilities and low-cost clinics are below.

We'd like to extend a very special thank you to the veterans at the VFW 7334 Raws-Tait Post where we hold our clinics. Without their support, the clinics wouldn't be possible.
We thank them very deeply for their service and for the sacrifices they have made for our country, and we're so appreciative of their help so that we can serve the local community.
Please show them your support by stopping by the
Somerdale VFW and having a drink with some of these distinguished men and women.
Before finding our new home at the Somerdale VFW, CSTAR Animal Care's Spay Our Strays Clinic had a very difficult time finding a long-term location that could accommodate the clinic's needs. We spent months and months tirelessly searching for a location after Lindenwold Borough had repurposed the Lindenwold Community Center that we had been using for years.
And, after a run of bad luck at temporary locations (one had plumbing/flooding issues causing the building to be unusable, and the other had an electrical fire just a few days before CSTAR was set to sign the lease), the clinic volunteers finally thought everything would be okay when La Quinta Inn of Runnemede allowed CSTAR to rent out its ballrooms for the SOS Clinics.
But, just 6 months later, La Quinta Inn unexpectedly closed after a change in management fell through, leaving the Spay Our Strays Clinic again with nowhere to go, with just 2 weeks before CSTAR's next clinic was supposed to be held.
When the owner of
Sterling Storage in Hi-Nella heard about what we had been through, he literally SAVED our clinic program by letting us use his main office building for our clinics while we started another search for a larger facility.
With no promising locations in sight during the 7 months after La Quinta closed, and none during the 19 months that we had spent looking before that, our program would have most likely closed its doors forever if it hadn't been for Sterling Storage's help and support. We are very, very grateful to everyone at Sterling Storage for everything they did for us, so we could at least keep smaller versions of our clinics going, and not leave all of the people and animals that relied on us stranded with nowhere to go.
And now, through the kindness and generosity of the members of the Somerdale VFW, we were finally able to get back to offering our full-sized mega clinics again, enabling us to help more than 200 animals in a single clinic day.
And with all of that support, 2019 became a very exciting year for CSTAR's Spay Our Strays Clinic. On August 4th, we hit a new record when we fixed 221 cats in one day. And by the end of 2019, after 114 mini and mega clinics since we started in 2013, we've spayed/neutered more than 7,900 cats and dogs, and provided more than 13,000 veterinary services appointments.
Please help us ensure that we can continue to provide outstanding service to the animals in need in our community by
donating or
volunteering with us.
